How Copilot Money and Simplifi differ

Copilot Money's home page says its AI learns your spending patterns and tags every transaction automatically. It lists iPhone, iPad, Mac and Web. Copilot Money says it works with multiple data aggregators, starting with Plaid, and you can also add manual accounts. A partner signs in to your same account instead of getting their own login.

Quicken says Simplifi connects to over 14,000 financial institutions and lists it for web and mobile. You can share Simplifi with one other member who has their own Quicken ID, and its Taxes report supports TXF and TXJ formats for tax software. Quicken bills Simplifi annually.

The table above has each app's current price, with the date we checked it.

Which one fits your Money Type?

Priceless Tay sorts money habits into four Money Types: Strategist, Spender, Saver and Scrambler. Your type tells you which fix to make first, and it's a quick way to judge whether an app will help you or just look nice.

  • Strategists: Simplifi's Taxes report and investment tracking fit the way you already think about money.
  • Spenders: Copilot Money makes it easy to see where your money went this week. Pair it with the Spender first fix, Sleep on It.
  • Savers: Both apps have savings goals, which can turn idle cash into a plan. Pair it with the Saver first fix, Put It to Work.
  • Scramblers: Simplifi lets you set a custom income amount in your Spending Plan for months when your pay changes. Pair it with the Scrambler first fix, Bills First.

Not sure which one you are? Take the free Money Types quiz. It takes about two minutes.
