Fifecta

Give Every Paycheck a Plan

If your paycheck is gone before you can say where it went, you don't need more willpower. You need a plan for the money before it lands. Fifecta is the app Priceless Tay coaching clients use to do that, and now you can use it on your own. It's $15 a month or $150 a year, free for 7 days.

Fifecta's Planner for October: $1,845.67 left after spending, the five FUNDS buckets with Desires over plan, nine new charges sorted, and the Scrambler Money Type's first fix, Bills First.

How It Works

  1. The four Money Types, Spender, Saver, Scrambler, and Strategist, landing on Scrambler with its first fix: Bills First.
    1

    Find your Money Type

Take the quick quiz when you sign up. Spender, Saver, Scrambler, or Strategist, Fifecta starts you on the first fix for how you actually handle money.

  2. A $2,400 paycheck split into FUNDS: $831.24 Fixed, $150 Unexpected, $385 Needs, $140 Desires, and $200 Stash.
    2

    Plan your paycheck with FUNDS

Split each paycheck into Fixed, Unexpected, Needs, Desires, and Stash, so you know what's safe to spend before you spend it.

  3. Sorting new charges with one tap each: Venmo $180 to Desires, Walmart $40.60 to Needs, and Burger King $101.80 to Desires.
    3

    Track it and adjust

Connect your bank through Plaid, or type your numbers in. You sign in at your bank inside Plaid's window. Fifecta reads balances and transactions. Sort each purchase into a bucket and see what's left in Desires before payday.

Diagram: one paycheck splits into five FUNDS buckets. Fixed: rent, bills, insurance. Unexpected: your emergency fund. Needs: groceries, gas, copays. Desires: guilt-free fun money. Stash: investing and goals.

Every paycheck splits into the same five FUNDS buckets.

Same Paycheck, Sorted

Without a plan, every purchase pulls from one pile. With FUNDS, each one already has a bucket, so you can see what's safe to spend. Drag the handle to compare.

Everything Else Inside

  • Debt payoff dates

See when each card or loan is gone, and the snowball or avalanche order to pay them.

  • Goals with a monthly number

Set a goal and Fifecta tells you what to put away each month to hit it.

  • Net worth

Accounts, investments, and debts in one number you can watch grow.

  • Bill reminders

Get a heads-up before a bill is due so nothing sneaks up on you.

  • Ask Penny

Ask questions about your own plan in plain English and get answers from your numbers. Included, and they reset on the 1st.

  • Banks through Plaid

National banks work. Automatic linking brings your charges in, so you don't type each transaction. That is available in the US and Canada right now. You sign in at your bank inside Plaid's window. Fifecta reads balances and transactions. It does not call Plaid APIs that move money, and your password stays with Plaid. Accounts at one bank are unlimited. You can type by hand instead.

  • Add a partner

They get their own login, free with your plan. They can see and edit the plan, transactions, and goals. They never see the bank login. You get a note in the app when they join.

  • On your phone

It's not in the App Store. Add Fifecta to your Home Screen and it works like an app, alerts included.

Yes, right in the app under Settings, then Your plan. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for, and you won't be charged again. That day we disconnect your banks. We keep your plan for 12 months, then delete it. Export a copy in Settings, then Your data, before then. The Fifecta Terms have the details.

Yes. You can invite one partner, so a household is the two of you. Your partner gets their own login and can see and edit your plan, transactions and goals. You choose how the two of you split bills and goals: equally, by income, or by a percent you set. Any account, card, loan or investment you mark Only me stays hidden from your partner, along with its transactions and balances. To invite them, open Settings, then Household, and send the invite link. They never see your bank login, and you get a note in the app when they join.

Yes. For pay that changes, like commission, tips or gig work, Fifecta looks at your last three full months and suggests planning on the lowest one. Bills planned on the slow month still get paid in the slow month, and anything above it is extra money to give a job when it lands.

Yes. Mark each bank account or card as household, business, or both, and business charges stay out of your household plan. You can split one charge between the two, set aside money for taxes as a business goal, and download your business charges and mileage as CSV files to give your tax preparer. Fifecta doesn't decide what's deductible.

Your data is encrypted, other clients can never see it, and we don't sell it or show you ads. Read Security and the Fifecta Privacy Policy.

It's how you naturally handle money. Strategists have a plan that needs to scale, Spenders move money fast, Savers hold on tight, and Scramblers juggle. Each type has a different first fix. Take the free quiz to find yours.
