FAQ

Money Types and Relationships

Most money fights are not about the number. They are two different Money Types reacting to the same moment. Name each pattern first, and the conversation gets easier.

The same moment, two reactions

One person books the trip the day they see the deal. The other still has not moved money for it three weeks later. Neither is wrong. They are reacting to the same moment with different patterns.

Money Types give you language for that. Instead of "you always" and "you never," you can say "that is my Spender side" or "that is the Saver in me." Type language lowers blame.

What each type protects

Each Money Type is protecting something. Knowing what it is tells you how to talk to them.

  • Spender: freedom, fun, and ease. Hearing "no" can feel like rejection.
  • Saver: safety. Hearing "let's just go" can feel like pressure.
  • Scrambler: relief and not missing something. "Why didn't you check?" lands like a lecture.
  • Strategist: growth and progress. Too many small rules can feel like being held back.

Your Money Type tells you what you need. Their Money Type tells you how to say it.

Start with one shared money date

You do not need a joint budget to start. You need one short, regular time to look at money together. At Priceless Tay, that is the monthly Money Date.

Keep the first one simple:

  1. 01Each person names their Money Type, or takes the quiz first
  2. 02Each person picks one change that matches their own type
  3. 03Agree on one shared rule, like a fun number or a safe floor, and check it next month

One change each is enough. You are building a system together, not winning an argument.

Common questions

Yes, when the plan names each person's pattern instead of forcing one generic template. Start with a shared money date and one change each, then build from there.

Type language lowers blame. Name each person's pattern first, then agree on one change each and one shared rule, like a fun number or a safe floor.

That helps with understanding, but you can share the same blind spot. Two Spenders may both skip the pause. Two Savers may both avoid moving money. Pick one person to hold the first fix each month.

That depends on your situation. Money Types do not decide it for you. Whatever you choose, name each pattern first so the system fits both of you.
